The Story Behind The Studio
I set up Cheryl Angela Studio because, after years of teaching, I’ve seen first-hand that not every child thrives in a traditional classroom. I really believe in high-quality teaching, but I also believe it doesn’t have to look the same for everyone. The “one size fits all” model can leave some students feeling overwhelmed, overlooked, or disconnected especially those who are neurodiverse and may need a quieter, more flexible way of learning.
I wanted to create something different: a calmer, more nurturing space where students can work at their own pace, feel understood, and build confidence in a way that suits them. For many young people, particularly those with SEND or who experience anxiety around busy classrooms, a smaller, more bespoke setting can make all the difference. It’s about removing some of that pressure and giving them the time, support, and encouragement to actually enjoy learning again.
Creative subjects such as Art and Textiles are not ‘extras’. They give young people a powerful way to express themselves, problem-solve, task risks, make decisions and feel a real sense of achievement.
