Creative, calm, and tailored learning—helping every young artist thrive beyond the traditional classroom

Hello, I’m Cheryl — the person behind Cheryl Angela Studio.

I have been teaching Textiles, Art and Design for almost 20 years, and I am passionate about helping young people feel confident, capable and creative.

Throughout my teaching career, I have seen first-hand that not every child thrives in a traditional classroom. Some children need a calmer space, a more flexible pace, and the chance to learn through practical, hands-on experiences.

My aim is to create a studio environment where every young person feels:

  • welcomed

  • respected

  • understood

  • encouraged

  • creatively challenged

  • proud of what they can achieve

I work especially well with children and young people who may feel overwhelmed in busy classrooms, need a more individual approach, or have lost confidence in learning.

Cheryl was absolutely incredible getting me through my Art GCSE. She gave me a few tips throughout the coursework in Year 10, always being so quick to reply and going into the depth that actually helped. In the exam period I went to Cheryl for tutoring support; she knows how to break it down and gave me such great advice, showing examples, techniques and helping with my annotations. I don’t think I would’ve managed to get through my GCSE Art without having Cheryl’s help.
